Job Description

Role Overview The Managed Migrations Engineer will be involved in the full lifecycle of managed migrations projects, from pre-sales meetings, to project closure. Operating as the technical lead on customer migration projects. Leading technical migrations for our clients, this person will be able to advise customers on the functionality of the CloudM products, the processes, identify risks and plan / schedule their own work. Overtime is expected as part of this role at predefined hourly rates. Key Responsibilities * Attend pre-sales meetings with customers and partners, providing detailed technical insight of the CloudM products and migration processes * Provide technical information for Statement of Works, to outline the scope of the work * Provide guidance to customer or partner on process needed to complete the agreed work * Provide guidance to customer or partner on scheduling the work * Provide regular and detailed communications updates to the customer or partner, via the agreed channel * Attend meetings / calls with the customers and partners * Monitor progress of migration projects, and resolve errors as they occur * Agree closure documentation with the customer / partner. * For Project Manager led projects, to liaise closely with the Project Manager and deliver migrations work as per the agreed schedule. * During periods of increased capacity, to assist and provide cover for the product support team in case of annual leave or sickness. Skills * Above all else, an enthusiastic, proactive approach to learning and delivering services to customers is the primary skill needed. * Great client facing skills in dealing with customers and internal stakeholders via face to face and video conferences * Understanding of the principles involved in migration of mail and data from (any) environment, to the cloud. * Ability to plan and prioritise work according to business and customer priorities * Excellent documentation skills In time, the Managed Migrations engineers will need the following skills, but initially, any of the following skills would be beneficial : * Microsoft Active Directory * Microsoft Exchange * Microsoft O365 administration * Google Gmail administration * Google Drive administration * Microsoft SharePoint Administration * Lotus Notes / Domino environments * Detailed, technical and practical knowledge of the CloudM products * A detailed and deep knowledge of IT to the extent that you are able to collaborate with technical specialists and take * ownership of solutions. Experience * At least 3 years' experience in a customer facing technical support environment * Previous experience of running or assisting migration projects for internal & external stakeholders desirable * Experience of planning and delivering technical work packages would be advantageous.
