Job Description
Store Operations Manager As a Store Operations Manager here at PPG you will lead from the front. With responsibility for driving and growing sales within your Decorating Centre, you will ensure that the operating standards achieve the expected level of excellence. Leading the Sales Assistants based within Decorating Centre, you will maintain a high standard of presentation, housekeeping and customer service in order to support our customers, promote and elevate our products, demonstrating and embodying at all times the PPG way. Key Responsibilities * Achieving expected sales and profit targets within store to ensure Company profitability. * Providing day to day management of the Sales Assistants which will include the organisation and planning of both working rotas and absence planners. The number of direct reports will vary dependent on size of store. * Providing training to all new and existing colleagues and coaching where necessary, ensuring the completion of company objectives whilst maintaining an outstanding level of customer service. * Working with the District Operations Manager and Operational Improvement Manager to control resources in line with budgeted costs. * Maintaining a high level of security, and full compliance with Company policies within the Decorating Centre in regards to stock, financial transactions, security and premises. * Handling of the Decorating Centre accounts within the agreed company guidelines and policy to minimise the risk of potential bad debt. * Ensuring that Health & Safety standards are maintained to ensure the Company is in line with legislation and to align with Company policy. * Carrying out recruitment and selection procedures in liaison with DOM, to ensure that staffing levels are maintained. * Planning and undertaking stock take duties as directed by the District Operations Manager to ensure accurate levels of stock within the store. Qualifications * Previous experience in a customer facing environment delivering on direct sales. * Strong leadership, mentoring and motivational skills with previous supervisory experience. * Excellent communication skills, with a positive customer focused attitude. * Demonstrates the ability to stay calm and composed when dealing with difficult situations. * Flexibility in attitude towards both working hours and duties, providing cover for the other Decorating Centres in the Zone as required. * A full valid driving licence held for a period exceeding one year.
