What we do We design and manufacture digital products across financial services. We are focused on serving distinct customer segments that are currently under-served by the market, with products designed specifically for their needs. We use modern technology, and an ecosystem of partners, to take the cost out of manufacturing banking products, so we can make our customers better off. We are also developing a range of products, using personal data and active triggers, to create dynamic products. Unlike traditional banking models, we are not obsessed with customer ownership and cross-selling other products. Our products must be right for our customers and stand alone. We focus on building the best products we can for each customer segment, rather than building one product to serve all. Purpose To provides comprehensive advice on a range of issues, you will be responsible for: * drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts with third parties, with a particular focus upon fintech, financial services distribution and product aggregator sites but also a range of contracts across the business; * Advising on new fintech product development, customer journey design and registration and protection of IP; * Portfolio acquisition due diligence and consumer credit act compliance; * Advising on regulatory requirements (in conjunction with the Compliance team) affecting the business; * Reporting directly to the Group General Counsel and assisting with all aspects of corporate and company secretarial requirements across the Group. Requirements * Be a UK-qualified solicitor with 3 - 5 years post-qualification experience of providing general commercial advice at a reputable law firm or in an in-house environment; * Have an in-depth knowledge of English contract law; * Have proven ability to provide practical, outcome-focused legal advice and support across a broad range of areas of law; * Be able to draft and negotiate a range of agreements; * Have good oral and written communication, facilitation skills and the ability to present information in a concise and coherent manner. * Be able to manage and prioritise your own workload and work with a minimum level of supervision; * Knowledge of Consumer Credit and Financial Services legislation would be a bonus but not mandatory; * Be a self-starter, proactive and capable of building strong working relationships within the team and at all levels across the business; * Be strongly motivated by the business's mission, vision and culture and be willing to learn about new areas of law.
