Background YouView's award-winning experiences on TVs, set-top boxes, and mobile platforms are powered by a best in class cloud based data platform. Our user experiences reach around 3 million homes in the UK through BT TV and Talk Talk TV as well as retail offerings through Sony Bravia TVs and Humax DVRs. We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to join our team to help us continue to grow and evolve our product proposition. Role and responsibilities: Build the right thing Use knowledge of market, users, competitors, shareholders commercial priorities and YouView's strategic business objectives to drive collaborative ideation, prototyping, and testing to identify the product features which deliver the best value for YouView, our shareholders and consumers and deliver towards our OKRs. Gain stakeholder buy in and support for product proposals and prioritisation, backed up by clear, commercially based rationale and sound business case Work alongside Product Design and the Data and Insights team to understand how our users are engaging with the service to identify opportunities to improve and problem areas to address The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of YouView's competitors and be passionate about delivering the best quality YouView product into a highly competitive market; delivering the products for which they are responsible on-time, within scope and to budget. Embedded as the Product Owner within a cross-functional team, ensure the delivery of product requirements through the programme's sprints working collaboratively with other embedded team members from Product Design, Technology and Delivery. * Break down requirements into user stories using just in time story elaboration, building up details as the start of the sprint approaches. * Own, prioritise and maintain the team product backlog and acting as the single custodian for product requirements * Carry out backlog and sprint planning reviews * Quickly and effectively manage and resolve issues as they arise, ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are fully updated where appropriate * Support the operational readiness and roll out of features to customers Effectively manage communications to and inputs from YouView's shareholders * Build and leverage strong working relationships with product representatives of YouView shareholders and customers, demonstrating a sound understanding of their commercial interests and priorities in order to appropriately tailor communications Monitoring and Managing Product Performance * Accountable for monitoring the performance of existing product functionality and understanding how newly released functionality performs against its intended objectives, supported by the Data and Insights team, consumer feedback, and other reports. * Define and prioritise non-functional requirements to deliver the best possible product that meets the level of quality YouView sets in the market Lead and support other product initiatives * Lead or support other projects or initiatives within YouView which support our goals and objectives Essential Skills: * Demonstrable experience of leading, devising and communicating compelling product strategy, concepts and roadmaps to stakeholders at senior levels within organisations, including oral and written presentations * Ability to understand and apply industry knowledge and market awareness to product strategy and planning * Excellent understanding and experience of agile product development skills and product life-cycle management. * Good understanding of the UK market landscape for digital media products, including consumer attitudes and interaction. * Proven ability to influence decision-making at senior levels within an organisation, and in a variety of contexts * Ability to simplify complex problems into component parts and evaluate systematically * Track-record of resolving conflicts through influencing and negotiation skills * An authentic belief in YouView's vision, core values, and ability to succeed.
