We want to better communicate and involve our hard-working staff, so that they can do what they do best: deliver compassionate care. Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT) aims to be in the top quarter of mental health trusts nationally for the quality and safety of care by 2023. Our Trust values of Positively, Respectfully and Together sum up perfectly what this role encompasses by placing the service user, patient and carers at the forefront of everything we do. Our current staff have told us how they wish to be supported and treated. The latest staff survey is clear that we need to improve. We have created a new post of Staff Communications Officer to support that aim. We are looking for someone who is passionate about listening to staff, and who is already or can learn to become adept at cocreating high-quality information for staff. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with staff networks, particularly our BME, LGBTQ+ and disability groups. You would develop and enact a staff communications plan, working with care group leaders. You would be responsible for writing and producing a weekly staff e-bulletin. You will already understand content management systems and be able to learn to use these to update intranets and websites. As well as being able to write clearly and accurately, you will have the skills to film, produce and edit videos. On top of that, you will have experience of using social media, particularly to support staff. However most importantly and in keeping with our trust values of vales of Positively, Respectfully and Together, we are looking for someone who has exceptional people skills as this role requires you to make difficult decision whilst having to maintain professional relationships. We wish to better celebrate successes by sharing service user and staff stories sensitively. You will have at least five years' experience or training in communications up to degree level.
