Job Description

The North East & North Cumbria aims to significantly transform services for people with learning disability and/or autism who have or may be at risk of behaviour that challenges, to lead happy, healthy and safe lives. Supporting the transformation of the workforce across all sectors and including the informal workforce (family carers) is a fundamental element of our Integrated Care System. Positive Behavioural Support is an approach that enables the right support to be provided at the right time to make this goal possible. Building upon what is already achieved this post will lead, support and shape the North Cumbria and North East Positive Behavioural Support Coalition and Communities of Practice to improve the standard of PBS provision in the region and thus enable people to achieve good quality of life outcomes. The Strategic Learning Disability Workforce Development Manager (PBS) will lead a strategic workforce development approach to develop the skills, knowledge and values of PBS for everyone involved in providing support for people with learning disabilities and/or autism who have or may be at risk of behaviour that challenges. The postholder will work across the North East & North Cumbria with specific focus on the north of the region. It is a full time, permanent position. The post holder will work on behalf of the North East & North Cumbria Integrated Care System. The Learning Disability Workforce Development Team are hosted by Tees, Esk & Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust and be home based (due to COVID-19 circumstances). When it is safe to do so there will be a frequent requirement to work in and travel across Cumbria and the North East so access to your own transport during working hours is essential. This position will also work in partnership with the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences at Northumbria University.
