Would you like to be part of our dedicated team of therapists helping people to stay safe and independent at home and who are recovering from injury and illness in our local community in Exeter? The Exeter Community division comprises of two clusters, one covering Central & East, the other South & West Following the recent retirement of staff, we are now looking to recruit a Band 6 Community Physiotherapist preferrably to work full time, 37.5 hours per week (part time hours may be considered). You would join our team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Nurse and Support Workers, who make up the Exeter Community Rehabilitation Team in the Central & East Cluster.Also within our service we have the Exeter Community Neurological rehabilitation team. Currently our service operates Mon - Fri, but this may be subject to change depending on the future needs of the service. The caseload will be varied with many patients presenting with multiple pathologies and therefore applicants should have post graduate experience of working with patients with a wide range of conditions e.g. falls, acute, musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurological, palliative and long term conditions and have some experience in manual and therapeutic handling. We provide excellent patient-centred care following a holistic assessment within patients' homes, nursing and residential homes. We work closely with the Royal Devon & Exeter Acute teams, Urgent Community Response Exeter, Social Services colleagues, Mental Health colleagues & local voluntary services. You will need to be able to work autonomously, working without direct supervision as well as part of a team, and lone working in a community setting. You will need to deliver high quality care across organisational boundaries, utilising excellent communication skills and be passionate about empowering patients. The post holder will need to be flexible and able to adapt to change. It is essential the post holder has the ability to prioritise their own caseload and has access to transport, to travel to allocated patients. Our team prides itself on providing a comprehensive and structured induction programme, training and supervision as well as peer support. You will be expected to provide supervision, training and support to junior staff and students. You will work with Managers / Therapy Leads to develop the service and supporting innovation in line with patients needs and Trust wide developments. This is a chance to develop existing skills in a 'champion' role but also to develop a broader range of skills to enhance your practice.
