Joining our supportive team at the Sesame Centre in Rugby, you'll support individuals in a wide variety of activities both within the Day Centre and in the wider community. You don't necessarily need experience as we provide full training. The Sesame Centre is a thriving day service offering a wide range of activities, and every week is used by 14 adults with learning disabilities. Some individuals also have physical disabilities and various health needs; some can display behaviour that can challenge. We also have another day centre in Nuneaton, where you may be asked to work on occasion. Within the Centre they enjoy a wide range of activities including art classes, cooking, massage and postural care. You'll support people to access and be more involved in the community too and enjoy a wide range of activities, for example swimming, gym, exercise groups and shopping. You'll also support the individuals with their personal care needs. If you're new to health and social care, we provide full training including the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you've experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you'll discover we provide plenty of on-going training and career progression. You'll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people's differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. A full driving licence is essential for some roles. Closing date for all applications is Wednesday 24th June 2020.
