Job Description
**Role Summary:** You will provide technical expertise to support drive systems with technical aspects of upgrades, in-depth trouble-shooting, creation of technical reports and expert advice. You will support all Global Service projects as required, both in the office and onsite if and when necessary. **Essential Responsibilities:** + You will provide analysis of technical data from reported customer problems and creation of technical reports to discuss the findings, conclusions and recommendations. + Primarily, providing telephone and email support to customers, including analysis of alarms and trip history data and proposals for solutions to problems. + Where required, you will attend site (for up to 10% of your time) to commission systems, investigate problems, implement modifications, and carry out surveys. + You will create customer warning notices and advice notices in response to discovery of a hardware or software problem. You will specify, design and document drive trains including electrical design, selection and specification of components and application software. + You will be required to liaise with other GE Power Conversion units, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors and produce technical/design specifications and documents to help customers with problems. + You will provide technical proposals for upgrades of legacy drive systems. + Some overseas travel will be required **Qualifications/Requirements:** + You must be degree qualified or equivalent in electrical and/or electronic engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience + You will have a good understanding of control loops (open loop/closed loop, PID loops). + You will have drive and PLC software and programming experience (including Ladder Diagram and Functional Block).Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
