At Oakam we're building a credit product that works for high-risk customers. It's dynamic, exciting, challenging; full of Data Science, DevOps and opportunities to push the boundaries of engineering excellence. Getting our mission right means increasing access to credit for folks who need it the most, and more importantly creating a credit bureau that supports graduating folks to mainstream lenders. Platform Engineering At Oakam we avoid pigeonholing folks into specific roles, so if you're a backend/cloud engineers that doesn't mean you can't also dip into frontend work or explore new areas. You will be responsible for writing services and designing the AWS cloud infrastructure they run on top of. This year we have a two-phase approach, decommission the heritage lending platform and commission cleaner architecture. Phase two is about scaling, resilient, global systems. Don't get hung up on your history; we don't! Oakam is a very multicultural company, we have folks from all around the world with different backgrounds, some of us share similar interests, some of us are self-taught, and some of us have a computer science degree or engineering degree, you'll be in great company.
