An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for the forward thinking James Paget University Hospital in our Breast Team. The JPUH Breast Service were one of a few Trusts in the UK to take part in a pilot of GIRFT reviews for Breast Services. Members of the existing Team hold Regional and National roles. A member of our Team set up a world renowned MSC programme for Surgical students. The successful candidate for this replacement post will join the team of existing Breast Surgeons. Our Breast Team are a stand alone service and are not required to be a part of the Surgical On Call. The specialty is fully supported by experienced Breast Care Nurses. The Trust is forward-looking and highly regarded within the local region. The James Paget University Hospital (JPUH) is a modern hospital with state of the art scanning and diagnostics. The JPUH have been given an overall rating of "Good," following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection which took place in August 2019. The Hospital is an active partner in the Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. Approximately 1/3 of the undergraduate medical education is provided by the Trust. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to become involved in the undergraduate programme which could lead to an Honorary Senior Lectureship. There is also the opportunity for those interested in academic work to develop research with the UEA, with access to research facilities at the University. Candidates must have CCT or be within six months of completion of training or be on, or eligible for, the Specialist Register. The James Paget University Hospital is located less than a mile from long sandy beaches and is within commuting distance from several small villages. There is a wide choice of good local schools and competitive house prices. The roads are free from traffic congestion and residents enjoy a good quality of life with easy access to the natural beauty of the Norfolk Broads famed for its wildlife, walking, cycling and sailing opportunities. The historic city of Norwich is only 30 minutes away and has an international airport; there are excellent rail links to London and easy access to the ports of Felixstowe and Harwich for access to Europe.
