Supply Chain Assistant (Logistics) Location: Loughborough Salary: £18,000 + Company Benefits Hours: Monday-Thursday: 9.00am-5.30pm This is your chance to work for an award winning top 100 company in the Leicestershire area. The Supply Chain Assistant Role We are looking to recruit a highly organised and meticulous individual for the role of Supply Chain Assistant within our Supply Chain Department. What will you be doing? * Liaising with suppliers to track orders and ensure that goods are available for shipment and all the documents required are ready. * Liaising with freight forwarders and carriers to arrange shipments from both inside and from outside the European Union via sea, air and road, in line with internal procedures. * Monitoring stocks of temperature loggers at supplier's facility. * Tracking shipments on a daily basis, and checking associated documentation. * Tracking and submitting shipping documents for import clearance. * Liaising with the warehouse department to book in deliveries. * Record keeping and filing of shipment documentation. * Analysing freight costs and trending overall spend. * Investing non-conformances should they occur with freight forwarders and/or suppliers. * Assisting with other tasks in the supply chain department as necessary. Requirements for the Supply Chain Assistant Role You will have strong IT skills, especially Word and Excel, and have shown this by having recent experience in an administration role. You will need to be able to organise, have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and be able to work to strict deadlines. It would be desirable to have worked within the Pharmaceutical industry too. Why Morningside?
