Support Worker Service/Location: Aspens - Pembury, Kent, TN2 4QU Are you an experienced support worker who wants to make a real difference? Or are you a support worker looking for a new challenge? We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic, reliable and resilient Support Worker who would like to join our growing Aspens family, based at our Residential site in Pembury. Briars is a 9 bedded wheelchair accessible residential service for adults with mild to severe learning disabilities and some service users have some physical disabilities. Briars is a vibrant house with service users who enjoy the outdoors and experiencing new things. The service users enjoy going out for shopping, to the sea side, cinema, bowling, horse riding and sailing to mention but a few. No two days are the same here with this fun, caring and dynamic team! On site we support with activities of daily living such as cookery, pottery, art, household chores while promoting their independence as much as possible by offering choice and opportunities for growth. At Briars our support workers assist service users to live their lives to the full, improving their quality of life while pursuing things that makes them happy and as independent as possible! 37 Hours per week with various shifts to include weekends and occasional sleep in shifts. Support Worker Requirements: * Available to work shifts including "long days" and sleeping night shifts. * Understanding of Learning Disabilities * Experience with challenging behaviours * Positive 'can-do' Attitude * Friendly, Positive, Resilient, Calm and Helpful * Good problem solving skills * Good Sense of Humour * Team worker * Flexible and Trustworthy * Patient and Caring Attitude * Good at listening About us At Aspens, we have over 100 years of experience in supporting people with learning disabilities and on the autism spectrum as well as children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities or complex needs.
