More details on Altius and Avanade can be found on and What will be your challenge? We are recruiting a talented DataOps Engineer to join our Managed Services Practice. At Altius, our clients come first. Our Managed Services team ensure our customers applications and hosted systems are operating without incident and constantly developing with the evolution of new & exciting technologies. This is unique opportunity for a highly experienced DevOps/DataOps data engineer to take a role in the operational running of enterprise scale Microsoft Azure data and Business Intelligence solutions. You will be a confident communicator who loves problem-solving and thrives in a dynamic & collaborative environment. You adapt quickly to changing priorities and customer needs and work best when given a challenge. You will be involved with both delivery and managed service to ensure highly effective operational delivery of our data platforms. You will collaborate closely with the Development and Quality Assurance teams to ensure we continue to deliver world-class applications for our clients. What makes you successful? In short you have: * A good understanding of C#, SQL, database design & ETL solutions. * Experience working with Microsoft Azure * Excellent problem-solving skills * Excellent communication & interpersonal skills * A passion for technology & a thirst for knowledge Key Responsibilities Include: * Incident resolution, deployments, patches, upgrades, and reliability and performance improvements. * Involvement with DevOps of Data Platform solutions through a regular delivery of continual enhancements and improvement, ensuring we drive towards zero production incidents. * Implement, maintain, and improve our continuous integration and delivery pipelines. * Be part of an on-call rota that provides escalation support for Production Incidents. * Implement Monitoring and Alerting solutions. * Define and evangelize DevOps/DataOps best practices to improve reliability and performance. * Help to scale our services globally. * Development of automation where possible to create self-healing platforms enabling time to focus on continual improvement and innovation. Additional Skills & Experience This is a role for ambitious technologists who wish to work with the latest cloud technology from Microsoft. Whilst we do not expect everyone to have experience with all the technologies below, candidates will need to show their ability to rapidly learn new technologies. * Experience working within a DevOps/DataOps environment delivering critical data application services. * CI/CD - continuous integration / continuous development. * Experience of Agile working environments - Scrum or Kanban. * C# / Python. * Azure Data Factory. * Azure Data Lake Store. * Azure Databricks. * Power BI and wider Power Platform. * Azure SQL / Azure SQL Data Warehouse with PolyBase. * Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS). * Good understanding of provisioning and configuration systems -ARM, Terraform. * Traditional Microsoft BI stack: SSRS / SSAS (Tabular with DAX & OLAP with MDX) / SSIS. * Understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing concepts and methods.
