DEPUTY MANAGER - CHILDREN WITH SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES SALARY: £25,000 - £27,000 PLUS BENEFITS PLUS FUNDING FOR LEVEL 5 IN LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT! HOURS: FULL TIME - LONG SHIFTS - EXTENSIVE TIME OFF TOO! LOCATION: BEDFORD THE COMPANY Some providers of residential childcare are now being questioned on the quality of care that they offer to children. My client is child centred and a lovely warm, supportive company to work for. The organisation supports children and young people through special education, clinical and therapeutic 'on site' staff and a thereapeutic approach to it's individualised care. You will go on a pathway to a mangement role within the company! THE ROLE: -Lead the team in shaping and maintaining excellent standards of care and support - Support the home manager to provide professional support, guidance and supervision to a team of residential child care practitioners and be responsible for the day to day management of the home in the absence of the home manager - Ensure that the company vision, values, policies and ethos are promoted and adhered to -Bring a sense of humour and fun to the home - making positive and child centred choices to benefity both children and team -Assist the home manager to identify, report and manage current and emergent risks within the Home, including those that may impinge upon safeguarding and statutory compliance or inspection rating. Devise and direct improvements to mitigate risks -Liaise effectively with families, other agencies and stakeholders -Be prepared to undertake Level 5 leadership & management qualification ABOUT YOU - You will already be skilled in leading shifts in a high quality Ofsted registered children's home -You will hold QCF level 3 Diploma in residential Childcare or equivalent -Do you consistently exceed expectations and go the extra mile for children and staff? -Can you de escalate and manage behaviour effectively and with compassion? -Are you a Registered Manager of the future?
