Company Description Viamo is dedicated to helping organizations harness adapted and appropriate digital technologies for large scale, high-impact development projects. With headquarters in Northern America, and offices in more than 25 countries across Africa and Asia, we assist our partners to overcome implementation challenges by maximizing the use of digital to improve efficiencies and productivity in their behavior change projects. We combine in-country design and implementation support with an advanced cloud-based mobile engagement platform and direct integrations and partnerships with all major mobile network companies. Viamo is firmly committed to partnering with innovators and projects that have the capacity to set forth change on both the community and global level. Through the utilization of adapted and appropriate digital technologies, mostly mobile engagement solutions, we intend to assist in reaching and engaging with beneficiaries, stakeholders, and project implementers. We change the paradigm in international development, giving people access to information in their moments of needs and facilitating meaningful two-way communication so that their voices are heard. We focus on three important areas of Digital Development and ICT4D. 1. Mobile data collection for organizations in the developing world 2. Free, on-demand information available and fully accessible for target groups on simple mobile phones, in their local language, in their moments of needs 3. Mobile-to-mobile research of key informants for project monitoring and beneficiary feedback Position About the role: The goal of the UK Partnerships Manager is to support Viamo's new business development efforts on DFID proposals with large implementing organizations and consortia leaders. Viamo, a global social enterprise, already has a successful track record with international development donors such as USAID, the World Bank, GIZ and other enterprise clients. We are looking to expand our work into DFID and become the de facto mobile engagement service provider for international development projects. This position is to be based in London, candidates are expected to hold a valid work permit for the UK. Responsibilities : * Build and maintain strong relationships with the business development teams of large DFID implementing organizations and DFID itself. This might include participating in or organizing events. * Convince the relevant decision makers to include mobile engagement programing and Viamo's services as a core component of their project design and proposals. * Lead the DFID proposal development process within Viamo, in collaboration with Regional Directors and our 25+ country managers. * Build Viamo's internal process for the pursuit of DFID proposals, and then track and improve Viamo's performance in this area. * Become a thought leader within and outside the organization in terms of mobile engagement. * Support Viamo's European partnership development in coordination with the European Partnerships lead. * Help represent Viamo at relevant events and conferences in the UK and Europe in coordination with the European Partnerships Lead. Requirements Necessary preconditions: Valid work permit for the UK Skills * Successful track record in business development within large DFID implementation organizations (4+ years). * Strong relationships with large DFID partners & contractors. * Passion for the role of mobile technology in development. * Ability to design and articulate, both in writing and in-person, sector-specific (e.g. health, agriculture, D&G) value propositions for mobile engagement. * Strong relationships with DFID and other UK agencies. * Comfortable working with remote teams, startups, and/or social enterprises. * Understanding of other bilateral funders (AFD, EU grants, EC/EDF RFPs) desirable. * Multiple years living and working in Africa and Asia desirable. Objectives and Key Performance Indicators: * Generate 10% of Viamo's annual revenue from UK-based primes and DFID opportunities * Diversify our network of DFID relationships to 15 large organizations. * Develop, implement and improve our DFID proposal development process. Other information Team and Reporting Structure: Report to a member of the Viamo executive team while coordinating with Viamo's Director of Partnerships and Viamo's European Partnerships Lead. Compensation commensurate with experience. Applications considered on a rolling basis.
