Job Description

Xynteo's Principals lead teams to deliver value and impact for our partners and towards our mission, working with our Managing Directors and Advisors, and leveraging our contractors and community. RESPONSIBILITIES Principals may have a range of responsibilities at Xynteo, including: * Designing and managing the delivery of complex programmes for one or more partners, drawing on our Insights, Arenas, and Communications functions * Guiding groups of senior leaders from our partner organisations through learning, innovation and collaboration processes * Leading the development of our thought leadership and acting as internal subject matter experts on a range of sectors and disciplines related to our mission and theory of change QUALIFICATIONS Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications: * A graduate degree in sustainability, energy and natural resources, economics, business, leadership development, design, or other areas related to our mission * At least four years' work experience in management consulting, or an equivalent fast-paced environment with a high degree of exposure to clients * Exposure to design thinking and innovation * Success at working with a range of cultures * Excitement about, and experience with, substantial international travel, including to both developed and less developed countries * Ability to work independently and with teams, often with ambiguous and highly fluid settings * Curiosity and empathy towards those who may have different perspectives and values * Passion for and commitment to our mission CAPABILITIES Principals are expected to demonstrate the following capabilities: * Project management: leading teams in the successful delivery of complex programmes, planning resources and managing budgets * Coaching: acting as a role model and champion of our values, developing junior team members (including as a line manager), and mentoring more senior team members and partners * Relationship management: building strong networks and relationships within partner organisations, including procurement; proactively managing risks and identifying opportunities to add value * Business development: working with our Managing Directors to develop and pitch strategic value propositions that advance partner needs and Xynteo mission * Facilitation: leading externals through workshops and longer-term experiential journeys and learning processes, challenging with empathy and managing both process and energy over time * Tribe-building: actively expanding and maintaining our community in specific areas relevant to our strategy and mission; utilising direct contact, participation at events, and social media to build our presence and position * Subject-matter expertise: deploying sectoral and disciplinary expertise to develop compelling value propositions and stretch the partners we work with, building credibility with experts and senior stakeholders that can serve as contributors or collaboration partners for our work * Synthesis and co-creation: synthesising partner input to build outputs that foster a sense of co-ownership and inspire action, drawing on a range of input, including interviews, workshops, traditional and social media, and secondary research * Experience and process design: understanding and adapting our methods and tools to achieve programme objectives; contributing to the development of new tools * Story-telling: communicating clearly, confidently and persuasively in oral and written formats, adapting tone for the audience and context, creating narratives that inspire our partners and their stakeholders, and building and reinforcing our brand * Strong self-leadership: taking accountability for your own experience on your team and in the company and creating positive and supportive environments for our colleagues and partners This role is based in London, Britton Street.
