Job Description
Role: Business Development Executive - Permanent, Parker Lane Group Reporting To: BD Lead Location: The Westworks, White City Place, London Salary : 30-40k dependant on experience About PLG: Our mission at PLG is to revolutionise the retail supply chain. From customer returns to excess inventory, we use technology and industry expertise to help retailers find efficient and sustainable solutions to help them manage their returns, unsold inventory and recycle in a way that makes commercial sense. At present we have over 50 retailers on board and are operating in over 60 markets, with offices in the UK and Europe, with ambitious plans for international expansion. Our London HQ is based in White City Place and we are looking to grow the team with like-minded, ambitious individuals. No day at PLG is quite the same, we work collaboratively and make decisions collectively and each team member has their 'turf' to take charge of. Excellent written communication and numeracy skills are a must and proficiency in one (or more!) European Languages would be a plus (SE, DE, FR, ES, IT). DUTIES: Key duties include, but are not limited to: * Identifying and approaching new client leads * Collaborating on research, pitch and negotiation stages to secure new partners * Working with internal teams to develop new client proposals and partnership propositions * Building and managing relationships with key clients and decision makers * Accurately record client KPIs and data to create reports to share with clients * Data analysis and reporting in Excel * Domestic and overseas travel In this role you will gain: * Extensive experience working in a commercial client-facing environment, with a focus on the fast-fashion industry and its relevant disruptors * A strong understanding of retail, supply chains and recycling * Experience working in a rapidly growing business * Exposure to an array of clients, from multiple levels and backgrounds * A chance to develop excellent research and data presentation skills Requirements: * 1 year's experience in a client-facing role * Strong interest in retail trends * Experience conducting market research * Strong communication skills - written and verbal * Excellent numerical skills * Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PPT * Ability to travel - locally and internationally * A valid UK or EU passport Desirable: * Retail industry exposure is desired, but not essential * Linguistic proficiency in one (or more!) European Languages (SE, DE, FR, ES, IT) * Experience in a Business Development or Sales role
