We seek an experienced professional with a proven track record in the protection market, with either a reinsurance or direct insurance background to join our team. This role is unusual because it blends client sales management (individual & group risk) with pricing capability. You are the primary contact between Swiss Re and a portfolio of UK & Irish clients, with overall Profit & Loss responsibility for these business relationships. You will apply your commercial and technical skillsets to develop new business opportunities (Core 'flow', Transactions & 'new' Solutions) across your client base. Working closely with colleagues across our pricing, underwriting, claims, capital management teams, as well as access to Swiss Re's vast resource pools, you will deliver our market-leading reinsurance solutions to your portfolio of clients. Additionally, your technical skillset provides you with the ability to agree both risk cost and commercial pricing positions, promoting a seamless and agile delivery to the client. You will also play a key role in contributing to our wider market presence, including participation in external events, seminars and other brand promotion activity. Key Responsibilities: * Developing commercial reinsurance relationships with our portfolio of clients, across the full value chain * Independently managing a portfolio of UK & Irish clients end-to-end as well virtual 'deal teams' to secure new business * Applying technical knowledge to identify and match client needs to our full suite of reinsurance solutions * Marketing new solutions to build deeper commercial relationships with our clients * Differentiating Swiss Re's value proposition from its competitors to deliver true value to your clients * Building long-standing relationships spanning the organisational structures of your clients that are built on trust and credibility * Setting reinsurance strategy for each client and managing the go-to-market approach of the cross functional team * Diligent ownership of internal governance processes, ensuring our high standards for compliance are maintained * Supporting brand promotion activities and becoming a highly visible member of the Swiss Re UK sales team externally and internally Our Team: Your role will be an integral part of Swiss Re's UK Life & Health sales team. We work with a large portfolio of global and regional clients in the UK, Ireland and overseas. As well as primary insurance companies, our clients also include distributors, MGAs and other organisations across the protection value chain. We are small in number yet carry significant responsibility in the business with accountability for the new business production of the entire UK L&H portfolio. This drives a strong team dynamic with a focus on sharing success and supporting each other. We work collaboratively with colleagues in pricing, underwriting, claims and business management functions. Our aim is to balance the demands of delivering excellent client service with a lively, fun and energetic working environment! About You: * You are familiar with the UK & Ireland protection market, with expert knowledge of protection products and propositions * You can demonstrate a track record in sales or client management/consultancy * You are a qualified actuary (FIA/FFA/FSA or equivalent) with several years' post qualified experience. Alternatively, you have attained ACII or equivalent business qualifications such as CFA, CIM * You bring excellent understanding of the commercial and risk characteristics of L&H protection products * You have an appetite for a multi-dimensional, client facing role that combines sales focus with a strong technical underpin * You are amb
