Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join our established Therapy Services Team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a full time (37.5 hours per week) Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner to work in the busy Inpatient Medicine Team at Peterborough City Hospital supported by qualified Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff. This post will work across Core Medical Wards including Care of the Elderly, Haematology & Oncology and our Isolation ward. If you are enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for caring, this exciting role could be for you. Experience of working as a therapy assistant or in a hospital/ caring rehabilitation environment is essential. This will be a busy and demanding role but incredibly rewarding. A willingness to learn and develop is essential along with good communication skills and an ability to work in a team with a variety of professionals including doctors, nurses, social workers and also patients and their relatives. The role involves: * Supporting patients with exercise programmes and mobility * Assisting the MDT including therapists with discharge planning * Completing functional tasks delegated by the therapists to support the patient in returning to their previous level of function. * Administrative duties * Assisting on visits to patients homes to assess their discharge needs. Healthcare is a 7 day service and therefore the expectation will be for you to support weekend working.
