Job Description

Role Title: Cloud Infrastructure Consultant Role Location: London Role Objective: The Cloud Infrastructure Consultant(s) (CIC) is part of the Core Infrastructure for the Sapphire Anywhere line of business within Sapphire Systems plc. The primary focus is on ensuring system level uptime of the Sapphire Anywhere Cloud platform to ensure that customer SLAs are met. In addition to system availability. Sapphire Anywhere is largely built on Hyper-V high availability cluster technology to deliver customer environments along with more traditional physical server deployments for both Windows and LINUX environments. The CIC will be responsible for maintaining the underlying infrastructure (hardware, fabric, network and virtual layer) for uptime as well as provisioning new customer systems as they come on line, help desk customer support and the internal support of consultants who may require access to the environment. The role is based from the Sapphire London HQ and is predominantly shifted within UK (GMT+0) hours (08:30 to 18:00), flexible and shifted hours however will be required based on support needs and requirements. Responsibilities: The CIC will report directly to the Global Head of Cloud Services and will play an integral role in fulfilling customer SLAs and establishing best practices along with maintaining required accreditations. Responsibilities include but are not exclusive to the following. Understand user requirements and requests to allow fast and efficient deployments of customer environments. Understand the entire structure of the environment and continue to assess additional requirements (infrastructure and software), vulnerabilities and maintain the system in good working order ensuring continued up time. Confer with management and/or users to discus issues such as computer data access needs and configuration changes. Work closely with the Network Security Officer (NSO) to ensure appropriate ISO 27001:2013 compliance is maintained around data access and availability within the support estate. Document procedures and any testing in a comprehensive manner to allow team members to self learn. Train the broader Sapphire Anywhere and Sapphire Technical support team(s) on deployment methodologies (VM) and surrounding best practices around any specialist knowledge including ITIL specific practices. Monitor use of data files and regulate access to safeguard information in computer files within the support estate along with system performance. Daily review of system monitors and backup jobs to ensure all jobs have been completed successfully and no customer system is in a warning or down state. Review data storage (customer) and platform usage to minimise data and resource (VM) redundancy. Ensuring that the keeping of customer data is maintained at ISO standards. Stay up to date with industry standard technologies required for platform delivery such as Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft System Centre Security ensuring a continued dialogue with peers and management to share relevant updates. Experience: The successful candidate must be able to display strong competencies and understanding in the following areas. Microsoft Operating Systems - Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2 and 2016 Practical knowledge of client operating systems (Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10). Microsoft Windows Core (non GUI). Citrix XenApp 7.15 LTSR administration and deployment. AWS administration and deployment Microsoft PowerShell. Knowledge and working practice of Datacentre infrastructure Microsoft Active Directory administration. Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 R2 and 2016 VMWare ESXi 6 and above Microsoft System Centre 2016 (for Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) and Application Controller). Employment Type: FULL_TIME
