Job Description

Role Responsibility 1. Have full knowledge of all areas which are to be cleaned in the course of duty 2. Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include daily, weekly and period tasks. 3. Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH) 4. Have full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed only after correct training is given. Report any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use. 5. Ensure that the safety signage is always used appropriate, e.g wet floor signs and "warn" customers where possible. 6. Ensure that cleaning stores are always kept tidy and equipment stored safely. Chemicals to be locked away. 7. Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client and Sodexo. 8. Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance and general cleanliness to comply with statutory and Company regulations, wearing company uniform as specified. 9. Draw to the attention of the General Service / Hosp any potential hazards on site or infringements of Health & Safety Legislation. 10. Attend training & H&S meetings as is necessary to maintain standards in the contract and assist in carrying out the job role efficiently 11. Provide cover in other areas in times of sickness and holidays 12. Ensure all cleaning equipment is kept clean & maintained in safe working order. Report any defects to the Hospitality Co-coordinator or General Services Manager immediately 13. Comply with all Sodexo Company policies procedures and client site rules and regulations 14. Comply with all Company & client policies and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your work place 15. Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management 16. Report and take necessary action for any incidents of accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, or other irregularities. 17. Requested to attend safety awareness courses and staff safety forums. 18. Accurately complete required documentation / check sheets 19. Assist with stock taking 20. Accurately monitor their own consumables & equipment levels & place orders with the Management Team to deadline 21. Assist with all aspects of the preparation of food service areas & presentation of food to the company notified standard 22. Set up meeting rooms for hospitality events / meetings in on & off-site locations. 23. All conversations heard within the guest house areas are private & confidential & not to be repeated. 24. VIP events - set up preparation - including polishing of cutlery, glasses, tableware & signage. 25. Ensure clean up times have been agreed with other members of the team. 26. Help cook food in preparation of lunches or evening meals. 27. Follow instruction as directed by line Manager & in accordance with the required SLA. 28. To provide an efficient & friendly service to clients, stakeholders & customers in all departments. 29. Ensure all necessary documentation is completed to comply with company & industry standards. 30. To communicate well with clients, stakeholders, customers & colleagues demonstrating a helpful attitude at all times. 31. To undertake cleaning & ensure all aspects of the equipment and production area is completed to the Company's standard according to the cleaning rota or as directed. 32. To attend / receive any job-related training as directed. 33. Report all accidents and near misses in accordance to the Health & Safety documentation. 34. Wear the correct full uniform always. 35. Ensure that methods of preparation, production & presentation comply with Sodexo's standard & procedures. 36. Comply with all Company & Client policies, site rules & statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, Cook Chill System, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your work place. 37. Identify any medical, dietary and allergen requests 38. Ensure that all equipment used is in a safe working order and report any faults to the line Manager, ensuring the equipment is not used until safe. 39. Attend mandatory Weekly & Monthly meetings on site. 40. Key Security & Security of rooms and house. 41. Inform guest of emergency procedures and assist in safe exit if required. 42. Complete additional reasonable requests as instructed by Sodexo Management. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have experience in guest house general cleaning Willing to work extra hours to cover sickness and holidays Hold a full clean driving licence Strong communication skills Excellent time keeper Flexible working hours - willing to work extra for special events as needed Previous experience of working in a catering, food industry
