Role overview The Oracle DBA will join the Operations Software Development team who are responsible for building and managing the company intranet, critical backend systems and vital reports. Over time you will assume responsibility for the company-wide Oracle (11g) Database estate including: back-up, upgrade and ongoing maintenance. The role includes but is not limited to: * An audit and review of the company backup and disaster recovery strategy for the Database systems * Create and implement a programme of works to upgrade all database systems from Oracle 11g to the latest supported version of Oracle. * Manage the database systems on an ongoing basis with responsibility for back up, patching and maintenance Required Skills * Experience designing and implementing backup and disaster recovery plans for Oracle database systems * Experience in designing and managing Oracle Database upgrade programmes, ideally including 11g -> 20 * Professional experience in a Linux/Unix environment * SQL - Comfortable writing and analysing SQL Queries and Procedures * Ability to troubleshoot and think of creative solutions to problems * Proactive, and demonstrates ability to follow issues through to resolution Desirable Skills: * Experience of non-Oracle RDBS, especially Postgres * Experience of HTML, JavaScript and CSS * Experience of Python and Bash * Working knowledge of Git or other version control system For further information on the Mako Group please refer to our website. www.mako.com
