Children Senior Support Worker Service/Location: Aspens - Falconwood Residential Respite, 33-47 The Green, Welling, DA162PA CAN YOU HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM CONDITIONS? DO YOU WANT TO LEAD A FUN HIGHLY MOTIVATED TEAM ? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Senior Support Worker to work at Falconwood which is a children's residential respite service. Here we support children with Autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex needs. We have a safe and fun environment in which we engage the children in a wide variety of activities including; water play, sensory play, play parks, art, trips to the beach, cinema, farms, arcades and much more. We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic individual who has the drive and motivation to deal with the demands of this role. You will ideally have experience in working with children, autism and learning disabilities and an understanding of non-verbal communication would be an advantage. We do however offer full specialist training. Senior Support Worker responsibilities include, shift leading, being on-call, completing staff supervisions, effective delegation, deputising to managers, personal care, hoisting, dealing with epilepsy, administer medication, key working, working with external partners and parents, managing challenging behaviours and maintaining a safe fun environment for the children we support. 37 Hours per week contract that requires evening, weekends, on-call cover and sleep in shift work. Example Shifts: 7am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm All rotas are prepared a month in advance. Children Senior Support Worker Requirements · Ability to train towards a Level 3 Qualification in Health and Social Care or Equivalent or already hold this. · Experience in Children's Services desirable · Leadership Experience desirable · Experience of Behaviours that challenge is an advantage · Understanding of Learning Disabilities and Autism desirable · Positive 'can-do' Attitude · Friendly, Positive, Calm, Resilient and Helpful · Good problem solving skills · Good Sense of Humour · Team worker · Flexible and Trustworthy · Patient and Caring Attitude · Good at listening Access to transport is desirable but we are served by good public transport links by bus with stops outside the service and Falconwood train station is only a 10 minute walk away.
