Objectives and Purpose of this Opportunity We are currently seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Manager to join our Research team. This position will report into the Senior Manager for the GCLP laboratory. The lab manager will serve as the point-of-contact person to support all lab operations, equipment acquisition and maintenance, space organisation, and GxP and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience of managing a busy laboratory environment, preferably within a regulated laboratory environment such as GCP/GMP/GLP or ISO15189. The position will be based in central London. The position is full time or part-time. Key Accountabilities and Major Duties (Technical and Functional) * Point-of-contact person for the Research laboratory team. Manages all operational aspects within the laboratory. * Develops, implements, manages, and coordinates lab policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality in the laboratory. * Coordinates with research staff on issues which impact lab functions. * Sets up and maintains lab equipment coordinating with service engineers when required * Maintain equipment inventory * Support equipment acquisitions (include collecting quotes for CAPEX items, coordinate installations and user training * Serve as a main contact person to set up and oversee the lab environmental monitoring system * If required, establish and manage user's calendar for commonly used instruments * Manage lab supplies/commonly used reagents and maintain inventory. Coordinate shipping and delivery requests for team members as needed. * Oversee lab space organisation and maintenance. * Coordinate potential lab expansion or relocation. * Support new hire onboarding process and coordinate data transfer and storage during off-boarding. * Serves as GCLP laboratory coordinator and oversee GxP and lab safety compliance: * Ensure the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols are maintained and applied. * Host and facilitates regulatory inspections, audits (internal and external), assist in strategic planning, business development, and expansion initiatives * Writes SOPs, manage lab-based training and maintains oversight for training records * Support centralised laboratory activities such as autoclave, liquid nitrogen, media preparation * Serves as EHS safety officer, conduct laboratory safety inspection and ensure safety compliance * Serves as fire office (for the lab) * In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Education, Knowledge and Skills * Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BSc or MSc in a science-based discipline plus 6 years of relevant professional experience * A combination of experience that includes working in a GxP or regulated setting is strongly desired. * Laboratory management experience is required. * Must be proficient with MS Office, Share Point, Adobe editor/PDF creation software. * Hands-on experience in and understanding of immunology and molecular biological assays. * Experience managing laboratories and equipment, including budget and supply inventory. * Ability to possess and maintain a professional demeanour and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information at all times. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent organisational skills, detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task. * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to develop a realistic action plan. * Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with varying/changing priorities. * Ability to prioritise and plan work activities. * Being a team player with a 'can-do' attitude is a must. * M.Sc./B.Sc. in a relevant biological science and 6+ years relevant work experience as a minimum Come and join our journey Apply for this Job
