Job Description
CCT Fellow in Oncological Neurosurgery Applications are invited for a post CCT fellow in Oncological Neurosurgery at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. The start of this 12-month fellowship is planned for 1/2/2021. The ideal candidate should be a post CCT trainee with aspirations to become a Consultant in Oncological Neurosurgery. The successful candidate will join a team of three oncological neurosurgeons, Mr Stacey, Mr Plaha, and Mr Apostolopoulos. The team has extensive experience and carries out a high number of awake craniotomies and also endoscopic procedures for gliomas and intraventricular tumours. The post also offers excellent opportunities of learning by attending the neuro-oncology MDT and Neuro Oncology clinics. Research opportunities are also available including advanced brain imaging techniques for intraparenchymal tumours. The successful candidate will have to contribute to the on-call rota and ward registrar rota Weekly timetable: Monday: Team Grand Round Tuesday: Team ward round, Oncology MDT followed by Neuro Oncology clinic ( Mr Plaha). Wednesday: Team ward round, Theatre (Neuro-oncology & Epilepsy) (Mr Stacey). Thursday: Team ward round, Mr Stacey clinic Friday: Theatre (Mr Plaha/Mr Apostolopoulos - alternative Fridays).
