Job Description
Job Purpose The Senior Credit Risk Analyst is part of the Clearing Risk Department ("CRD") with specific responsibilities within ICE Clear Europe, the clearing house for Intercontinental Exchange. The CRD is the clearing house's first line of defense. The Credit Risk team is part of CRD and is responsible for counterparty risk and collateral haircuts and limits. The clearing house faces different types of companies or sovereigns as counterparties due to being members or clients in the clearing activity or provide treasury services. These include governments, banks, corporates, brokers, futures commission merchants among others. The candidate will be responsible for analysis of counterparts, in the context of their financial strength, revision of buffer margins, collateralization and risk to the clearing house. Will also take responsibility for various stages of setting, monitoring and reviewing collateral limits and haircuts. The analyst will work along with two Senior Credit Analysts, and will report into the Director of Credit Risk. This is an opportunity to step into the collateral arena, and close monitoring and interaction with the key players in the financial markets as part of one the largest global central counterparties, based in London. Responsibilities In the context of counterparty credit risk and collateral, the role requires that the development and execution of day-to-day activities comply with ICE's global and local rules, policies and procedures, in addition to regulatory requirements from the Bank of England, the Securities Exchange Commission ("SEC") and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission ("CFTC"). Therefore, the Senior Analyst will deliver financial analysis, monitoring and reporting in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. * General understanding of the clearing house rules, policies and procedures. Mindfulness of rules, policies and procedures in the scope of the processes within the Credit team * Monitoring of metrics and events through news and data sources, by running quantitative models, internally developed tools, producing reports and explaining incidents or exceptions supported by facts * Assist in fulfilling requests for information and due diligences from auditors, the second line department and regulators among others * Deliver recommendations for credit risk management with counterparties including members, clients, treasury service providers, issuers of bonds or other type of collateral. This will involve fundamental analysis of financial statements and market driven data * Managing the due diligence reviews on counterparties, this involves meeting with senior contacts and obtaining relevant information * Assist in the development or improvement of tools, models and processes through testing, implementation and at times providing input through the development project * Prepare and present meeting packs covering the key risk events over the reporting period, take minutes when required * Present to different stakeholders the results of the analysis, monitoring or project work. Discuss alternative risk mitigation solutions, able to understand and support different views * Providing any ad hoc support or assistance to other roles across the Clearing Risk Department as deemed necessary by managers Knowledge and Experience * Bachelor's, Master's or other advanced degree in technology, finance or mathematical discipline * Experience working in a Corporate environment * Sound understanding of the financial markets, financial market infrastructure and regulatory environment, gained in a trading environment * Experience delivering analysis and credit recommendations based on fundamental analysis of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income and Cash Flow statement) * Good understanding of balance sheet capital and corporate ownership structures * Ability to identify and use information relevant to the risk managed by the clearing house, from legal and regulatory documentation * Exposure to collateral management, guarantees and other types of risk mitigation instruments * Analytical mind with attention to detail; delivers accurate and timely results * Pragmatic problem solver, able to manage time and priorities * Active listener, team player and experience in managing expectations of internal and external stakeholders from different seniority levels * Clear, direct and concise communicator verbally and in writing * Advanced excel, proficient in word and power point Preferred * Experience in banks, trading houses or commodity merchants * Basic SQL or programming background * Basic knowledge of Business objects or Tableau Additional Information * Job Type: Standard * Schedule: Full-time
