Job Description
PHPRU Forest Wood Assessment Centre, provides high quality assessment and teaching of young children aged 4-7 with a range of complex special educational needs, in particular autism. Due to an increase in numbers, the Management Committee of PHPRU are seeking to appoint two 15 hours per week Teaching Assistants and one 30 hour per week Teaching Assistant, to join the existing team from September 2020. They will be committed to, and enthusiastic about, early intervention and maximising individual potential. These posts involve working alongside a range of professionals and families and therefore, requires someone with an outgoing personality, a positive outlook on life and a willingness to undertake a range of tasks. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children, with a range of abilities/medical needs predominantly those with ASD from lower foundation stage to end of Key Stage 1. The part time hours of work will be 10am to 1pm and 11.45am to 2.45pm daily. 30 hour per week post to be confirmed but over 5 days We are looking for someone: With experience of working with children with ASD To help deliver an appropriate and outstanding curriculum To support young children aged 4-7 years old to the end of KS1, who have complex special educational and health needs, both with class based activities and over lumchtime To support the development of Forest Wood Assessment Centre provision with particular reference to young children with Speech & Language Communication (SLC) Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Physical Difficulty (PD) To promote and support the achievement of all children through work with officers, agencies, schools, families and children where ASD, SLCN and/or PD is a factor To support assessment within the provision To participate as a team member in the operation, promotion, evaluation and development of the Forest Wood Assessment Centres and to work collaborately To be an outstanding practitioner who provides stimulating learning opportunities and enjoys working with young children We will offer: A unique opportunity to develop your skills and work to ensure all young children with ASD/SLCN/PD access appropriate education Experience which will extensively enhance your professional development A dedicated team of staff Experienced and supportive management who recognise and promote a positive work/life balance A high quality working environment with a calm, welcoming ethos Details of our service can be found at www.pinderfieldshospitalpru.co.uk or for an informal chat please contact Diane Cameron 01924 298351 The successful applicant will be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure Application Form and to provide criminal conviction information.
