Job Description

The Bar Standards Board (BSB) regulates barristers and specialist law firms in England and Wales. Our mission is to regulate the Bar so as to promote high standards of practice and safeguard clients and the public interest. Barristers work at the heart of our justice system so the BSB's mission is fundamentally important to the maintenance of the rule of law. This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Policy Officer to help deliver cutting edge high-profile policy projects within our Strategy and Policy Department. To be successful, you will have a proven track record of policy development, implementation and project management, utilising a wider range of evidence and best practice. You will need to be a highly motivated individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills, be comfortable presenting policy proposals to senior leaders and external stakeholders, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. The Strategy and Policy Directorate is a hardworking and committed team and works with other teams across BSB to deliver its objectives. As a senior policy officer in the team, you will work with other experienced policy professionals within your immediate team with diverse backgrounds and gain a broad knowledge of regulation and legal sector.
