Job Description

A Private Equity firm that is focused towards the Insurance Industry is looking to a hire a Senior Data Scientist to join the business. The role will transition into a Head of Data Science position as the current incumbent will transition into a CDO. The role will involve working closely with the Head of Data Science as they advise and offer hands on services to their clients. Senior Data Scientist Role: * Help solve large scale data science problems for clients * Work cross-functionally with partners to evaluate use cases, collect data, design solution architectures and build infrastructure * Design, develop and maintain (data-driven) algorithms, models, application programme interfaces (APIs), and applications * Communicate solution recommendations to business stakeholders in support of data-driven decision making Senior Data Scientist Requirements: * MSc in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or an Applied Science * 5+ years' experience of data mining, analytics, modelling and predictive software development (scikit-learn/MLlib) * 5+ years' experience of scripting/programming with the R, Python or Scala languages * Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot predictive source code and models * Experience designing comprehensive data (science) solution architectures and workflows * Demonstrated ability to review/scope business problems, identify effective key performance indicators (KPIs) and define accurate project timelines * Experience with translating data solutions and effectively Desirable: * Experience with distributed computing frameworks (Hadoop/Apache Spark) * Experience using the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform * Experience using the Databricks analytics platform For more information, please apply to this advert.
