Volunteer Coordinator, The Beacon, Walsall Hours: 37.5 hrs per week - Permanent An exciting Volunteer coordinator opportunity has arisen at The Beacon, Walsall. The Beacon is a fully integrated recovery focused substance misuse service working to provide drug and alcohol treatment across Walsall. The service delivers a range of services - from open access, harm reduction, medically assisted recovery and specific recovery interventions, hospital services, criminal justice and Foundations of Recovery team A key part of the vision for the service is the provision of highly skilled and well trained peer mentors and volunteers to support service users to achieve recovery and reintegration services in the community. Peer mentors and volunteers will form part of the multi-disciplinary team and will be involved in providing peer support. The post-holder will be responsible for the recruitment, training and development of peer mentors and volunteers within the service. The post-holder will be responsible for working with the Management Team to identify peer mentoring and volunteering requirements to support delivery of the different aspects of the service. The post-holder will be supported by the Service Manager and Regional Volunteer Coordinator and will be expected to take part in the ongoing development of support systems for volunteers and peer mentors in Walsall.
