Warehouse Operations Leader Description Closing date: 7 th July We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operations to lead our brand new Logistics Centre in Daventry. Cummins is currently building a 430,000 sq ft. Warehouse that will supply materials to all of our UK manufacturing plants. This site will be the first of its kind within Cummins across all regions, and it will be the flagship site for warehouse operations on a global scale. This is a unique opportunity that will determine the success of the site as it prepares for its go live date in October 2020. You will be given the freedom to build your own team, implement your own processes and collaborate closely with the Steering Committee on key decisions. There is a significant investment in the facility, so you will have a lot of exposure in an international business. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following; During the build phase; + Develop and the Warehouse Management Systems and processes, ensuring that they are integrated with our manufacturing sites. + Assist in the design of the warehouse layout, working with the HSE Site Lead and considering key HSE factors such as workstations, working at height regulations, pedestrian safety etc. + Collaborate with the Site Leader in developing KPI's to ensure the SLA's for each individual manufacturing site is met. + Develop your knowledge and understanding of each manufacturing sites' needs, customers and function. + Collaborate with the HSE Site Lead and developing safety designs. + Lead the recruitment of the Team Leaders, Supervisors and Operators. Once operational; + Act as the operational leader for the warehouse function, creating and implementing processes that will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of parts to the production line so that we can meet customer demand. + Advise on potential opportunities for the warehouse function to aid current and future business goals, developing initiatives and tactics to meet global objectives in alignment with business strategies and processes. + Create annual operating plan, forecasts, and other measurements for Parts Distribution Centre operations. + Develop and monitor effective KPI's that will ensure key deliverables are met. Set individual development goals for your team, sharing your expertise so that they can work effectively and progress within the business. + Approach daily problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets. Analyse operation trends and develop corrective action plans as required. + Prepare and manage an annual operating plan including costs, resources, and potential capital. + Work in partnership with union representatives. Qualifications To be successful in this role you will need; + Substantial, existing experience working as a Warehouse Manager, leading large teams of 150 or more staff members. + Qualifications in the supply chain/ logistics field, or qualified by relevant experience. + A track record of successfully implementing processes in a warehouse or distributions setting. + To be an influential leader who can lead by example and motivate people to achieve critical targets by working smartly and collaboratively. + To be highly methodical, with a solution-led mindset. + To be an advocate for change and implement your ideas in how we can streamline processes and procedures. + You are driven by achieving key milestones within given timeframes. + You are adaptable to change, and capable of working in a high pressure, fast moving environment.
