EMEA Lead of Quoting - GED IT United Kingdom Equities, Information Technology (IT) Corporate Center Job Reference #: 188830BR City: London Job Type: Full Time Your role: This is an incremental senior ED-level hire in London for the global GED Market Access and Quoting (GMAQ) area. The candidate will join the GMAQ management team to: Provide a senior point of ownership of the EMEA ET platforms (eViper, GreyBox Lon, Cobra) to face off to Business sponsors, PDG and Technology Management as managing relationships with as Quantitative and Control functions Advance the SDLC with particular focus on improving Governance and Oversight necessary to support a live trading environment in parallel to supporting ET Controls Set out the strategic platform direction to improve platform stability, reduce platform outage and work across technology teams to identify wider reaching Ensure that the GMAQ applications within the EMEA/AMER zone continue to meet the business's requirements and delivery measures to improve pace of development Building out the EMEA ET team and mentoring/developing the EMEA/AMER resources to improve staff retention and capabilities specific to a live trading environment Your team: GMAQ has over 20 staff in EMEA, developing and maintaining applications which support Live Electronic Trading (ET) capabilities for multiple trading desks both in London and in Zurich with EMEA Public Distribution Trading revenues alone in excess of 120m per annum. A senior EMEA lead for a business of this size is critical and the Cat-C role has been opened up given stability of global ET platform, with outages leading to more frequent client complaints in EMEA with significant and a real franchise risk of circa $60m. Your expertise: The role is ED-level due to the combination of skills required to be effective, such as: 1. Over 10 years relevant technical experience in delivering technology or quantitative analytics live into production systems (Risk/Pricing) with full comprehension of the level of due diligence and oversight required given the business risk 2. Strong leadership skills esp. in managing teams in remote locations, providing team direction and setting platform strategy 3. Exceptional communication skills and senior stakeholder engagement, this will be a business face-off role and critical the candidate has experience working with senior business leads and can form a strong partnership with the desk heads 4. Strong analytics background, ideally senior quant/quant dev trained with detailed understanding of the equity derivatives product space 5. Multi-disciplinary software engineer with wealth of experience spanning multiple languages and understanding the relative merits of 'off-the-shelf' technology vs 'in-house' crafted solutions 6. Proven experience in low-latency and running front-office productions systems It is this niche combination that requires an ED-level role with the business engagement paramount to take ownership of the platform and face-off to the regional desk leads.
