Overview: A London City based Insurance company requires a Systems Analyst to support the delivery of an ongoing portfolio of small change within the Business Intelligence ("BI") function while simultaneously providing cross-functional support to the other IT functions, ongoing projects and business stakeholders. This permanent role will report to the BI Delivery Manager focused on business / systems analysis and requirements gathering in support of new change through the full lifecycle and ongoing run activities. The role will require engagement with a broad range of business and IT stakeholders ensuring that existing and new change processes are enhanced and embedded within the delivery model. The preferred candidate will have an extensive background as a Systems Analyst and able to successfully demonstrate first-class technical and stakeholder-management skills. Role will suit an excellent communicator able to engage across the wider business at all levels of seniority. A self-starter who has successfully operated in a demanding and fluid change environment who is able to provide structure and process to mitigate associated risk. Job Purpose: The purpose of this role is primarily to: - Support the analysis and requirements definition for a high volume of small to medium BAU changes from a range of critical functions and upstream projects. - Evolve to expert level understanding of current systems landscape to provide ad-hoc support to BI Support Team in resolution of critical and non-critical incidents. - Use established analysis methodologies to complete formal documentation as required by each work package. - Working with SQL to analyse datasets and provide our business stakeholders with a better understanding of their data. - Provide technical training on BI reporting tools to non-technical stakeholders Key Responsibilities: - In support of the prioritisation of change, provide draft assessment of to support collective review of change size, complexity, and feasibility. - Engage with existing governance processes to assist in the estimation of effort / resources required to deliver change and support informed decision-making of BI Governance Group. - Work with BAU Delivery Manager to assess, review and document the requirements including technical, process and operational impact of each request. - Identify any knowledge-transfer needs in support of transition activities associated with planned changes. - Assess and document architectural impact of change for presentation at monthly BI Technical Design Authority - At each stage of the lifecycle liaise with BAU Delivery Manager to ensure entry / exit criteria are met and risk / issues to release cycle are mitigated. - Work with core development team to ensure that business requirements are translated into effective business solutions while engaging with stakeholders to resolve iterative changes to requirements and / or solution. - Self-manage an evolving pipeline of change to support overall resource planning with the BAU Delivery Manager. - Use existing expertise to Identify and propose system / process improvements to be prioritised by the BI Governance Group. - Maintain / improve the quality of the monthly release and reduction in volume of production defects, - Align with current test strategy and approach ensuring that documentation and artefacts supporting existing entry /exit criteria are planned and delivered in line with Test Manager expectations and deadlines throughout Unit->SIT->UAT test stages. - Engage the developers and BI Architect to assess the feasibility and architectural alignment for any change deemed subject to Technical Design Authority ("TDA") review and ensure that formal documentation is submitted to support, as necessary.
