Job Description
: Main Duties: Provide information on the language which is typical of academic subjects in their discipline of study Provide texts used in their discipline Explain subject-related concepts and specialist vocabulary to the English teacher Identify and provide examples of important text types in these academic subjects Provide information about modes of assessment in their discipline of study at the University of Birmingham Support students through our summative assessments Be able/willing to provide similar support for disciplines allied to their own Skills and Experience required A degree in the relevant discipline Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal Excellent interpersonal skills, including a friendly and approachable manner, and the ability to work with students from a range of disciplines and with a range of abilities Experience of working as part of a team Previous Experience of teaching, tutoring or helping others learn A degree in the relevant discipline
