Job Description

Ardingly College International Limited (ACIL) has a vacancy for an ESL curriculum specialist to assist the ACIL team and Ardingly College Senior School ESL department with delivering and developing ESL services for Vietnamese and Chinese partners, especially with regards to the Early years and Primary School ESL. The role would not initially consist of teaching ESL at Ardingly College, but could lead to teaching ESL in the future. The role will initially be part time, and some or most of the role could be completed remotely. The post holder will however be required to travel occasionally to Vietnam and China. This may overlap with school holidays at times, and the role will require some work to be completed in holidays. The ideal candidate will be educated to BA level at least, with a strong interest and experience in teaching ESL in UK independent schools. Experience in staff development, curriculum development, tracking and monitoring pupil performance, and transitioning through phases of English learning, especially in the younger years, are all important. Ideally the applicant will have some experience of working in an international bilingual setting outside of the UK, though this is not a requirement. This role is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their leadership capability, travel to Vietnam and China, and develop skills in cross-cultural curriculum design, teacher training and collaboration which will add greatly to the CV of the successful applicant. It is estimated that the role will take a total of 2 days per week, with flexibility to allow the ESL specialist to spread those days over the week as suits. The salary will reflect our generous pay spine and will be commensurate with the applicant's experience. To view the full job description please see the documents attached at the top of the page.
