Description Legal Counsel London G band This role is as part of the Partner Markets, Content and Fixed Products team in Group Legal. You will provide legal support in relation to all legal matters arising in respect of Group-wide consumer products and services, developed centrally and implemented in local markets across our global footprint. Product service areas include content partnerships, Vodafone TV, charge to bill, and fixed communications and security. There will also be the opportunity to support the Partner Markets business and to work across Group providing cross-functional support. We are passionate about improving our ways of working and trying out new ideas so you'll be expected to get stuck in with transformation activities too (e.g. to facilitate smarter working, enable self-service of the client base and enhance efficiency across the legal teams). You will * Draft contracts for complex and sophisticated transactions (including strategic partnerships and content and technology licensing) and support commercial colleagues in their negotiation with third parties to achieve contractual arrangements which accurately reflect the business requirements; * Provide advisory legal support in respect of the development and in-life management of consumer-facing products and services (including but not limited to, e-commerce, consumer law, product regulation and product safety). This will involve shaping products to mitigate risk, preparing terms and conditions, and advising on marketing claims. * Provide the business with timely first class pragmatic legal support by understanding key commercial drivers and providing clear, practical and robust advice which facilitates business needs whilst mitigating key risks and challenges; * Provide the business with tools to allow it to undertake self-service activity without undue reliance on Group Legal (e.g. training, precedents, guidance notes and toolkits); * Work with other key stakeholders including, Group products and commercial teams; legal teams in local markets and other teams within Group Legal (particularly the Privacy and Procurement teams); Group and Local technology; and Group Finance. You must have * Relevant legal education * Experience in a commercial legal role dealing with complex matters, ideally with experience of consumer law and/or product law (particularly in respect of digital consumer products). * Experience of leading the legal support on complex commercial agreements, projects or subsets of larger projects. * Ability to work at speed, providing accurate, pragmatic and actionable advice to tight deadlines. * Good commercial understanding and proven track record of delivery against tight timelines. * Ability to present authoritatively to internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate protection of Vodafone's interests, whilst concentrating on the issues that really matter. * Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with impact logical analysis, and commercial legal advice to senior audiences using a variety of communication styles. * Influencing, bridging and negotiating skills (verbal and written). * Good knowledge of relevant law and awareness of legal and commercial developments that may affect the Vodafone business. * Experience within a private practice working with clients listed on the FTSE 100, FTSE 250 and/or with an in-house legal team in the technology or communications sectors (desirable) #groupresourcing
