The IDEXX Histology team is hiring for one of our largest labs EMEA-wide! We are enthusiastic, collaborative, and part of a dynamic and very active department located in Wetherby. We have two large teams spread across early and late shifts that are integral to our success in the UK and other European regions. We are hiring for multiple potions with varying shift requirements. Our Talent Acquisition Team is keen to speak with all experienced and aspiring Histology Scientists interested in career opportunities within this growing team! In This Role As a Laboratory Technician or Laboratory Scientist, you will perform, and complete procedures set by the senior members in your department whilst adhering to laboratory policies and standard operating procedures. We encourage you to continue to develop knowledge and expertise, by keeping up to date with relevant current literature and attending meetings and courses where possible. You will perform laboratory analyses and tests which are vital for the diagnosis for our client's animals. * Depending on your experience and following your training you will be processing tissue samples for our Pathologists using grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining and special staining techniques. * The shifts are Monday-Friday 06.00 - 14.30 or Monday-Friday 14:00 - 22:30 Histology Department: Based in the Wetherby Lab, IDEXX Histology processes anatomical samples, providing a diagnostic service to customers all over the UK and other European regions. Our technical staff performs all tissue dissection on a range of material types and species. Samples then proceed through our processing and auto-embedding platforms ahead of microtomy, H&E and special staining and QC. Our lab is automated with leading edge technology, including digitisation of 100% of our cases for pathology to read anywhere in the world. Accredited to ISO 17025, keenly focused on lean practices and workflow, and part of a global community, the lab affords opportunity and interest to its staff. What You Will Need to Succeed * You have a responsible attitude and a willingness to learn new procedures. * You have good communication skills, are able to adapt quickly to change...and you're passionate about what you do! * You are educated with HNC, BSc or an equivalent qualification, preferably in Biomedical Science.Desired but not essential.
