Job Description

IDEXX Laboratories invites suitable applications for an integral position to our Wetherby based Lab's Histology Department. You will be part of a busy and collaborative team performing laboratory analyses and tests; supervising the early shift, overseeing workflow, day-to-day operations and troubleshooting; Preparing samples for anatomical pathology interpretation from specimen dissection, through microtomy to staining and QC as well as performing a variety of customer service activities for internal and external customers and contributing to process improvements. Your main responsibilities also include: * Performing regular duties of an individual contributor. * Leading work activities of others, coordinating daily activities and providing training, coaching and guidance. * Serving as informational resource; ensures work is completed timely and efficiently. * Communicating with other related departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed. * Perform related duties such as scheduling, gathering information, backing up supervisors, serving on project teams. What You Will Need to Succeed To be successful in this role, you'll have practical experience as a laboratory technician or scientist, working in a Histopathology laboratory, with sound theoretical knowledge of the discipline to accompany your technical skills. A positive attitude and high energy along with a proven track record of managing administrative tasks. Next to that, you will fit in well if you can be described as: * Having excellent organizing skills, and a structured approach to bringing people together. * You should be pro-active by nature, with a high degree of reliability and attention to time and detail. * You are a natural net-worker, good communicator focused on priorities and an excellent project manager.
