SPECIALIST AMBULATORY SERVICES DIRECTORATE ST JOHN'S INSTITUTE OF DERMATOLOGY Senior Clinical Fellow in Medical Education and Medical Dermatology Nodal Point 4 - 49,036 p.a. excl. LZ Full Time - 40hrs Fixed Term - 12 months Applications are invited for this fixed term 12 month appointment suitable for Dermatologists seeking to develop an interest in medical education and acquire specialist training in complex medical dermatology, commencing 1st October 2020. This is an excellent opportunity to develop an interest in medical education and also receive supra-specialist training in complex medical dermatology. The post holder will join a first class, multi-disciplinary team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment. This post will comprise of 50:50 educational and clinical time. The post holder will have a unique opportunity to develop as a medical educationist as part of the St. John's DermAcademy. As a senior clinical fellow within highly specialised medical dermatology, the post holder will play a central role in further development and delivery of medical education at St John's Institute of Dermatology and receive supra-specialist training in the management of adult severe inflammatory skin disease and associated complex immunotherapies. St. John's Institute of Dermatology is an internationally renowned centre of clinical and academic excellence. It is a renowned postgraduate training center for dermatologists and other healthcare professional, including dermatologists from all around the world. St John's DermAcademy seeks to provide dermatology education of the highest quality, which is evidence-based, clinically focused and has national reach. It has a strong track record of many successful educational courses run each year and initiatives for health care professionals and is a leader in high-quality, evidence-based dermatology education. The St. John's Institute of Dermatology with King's College London also delivers the internationally recognised advanced study programme in Dermatology - MSc in Clinical Dermatology. The Medical Dermatology Service at St. John's Institute of Dermatology delivers high quality multidisciplinary care in state of the art facilities to adults with severe inflammatory and blistering skin diseases locally, regionally and nationally. It comprises bespoke, disease specific services for severe psoriasis, eczema (and related allergy), hidradenitis suppurativa and immunobullous disease. Links with relevant general medical specialties including combined and liaison services are well established with allergy, rheumatology, and the lupus unit. You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a License to Practice. The post is ideally suited to applicants who have obtained their CCT or within 12 months of attaining it but consideration will be given to other applicants demonstrating a specific interest in the subspecialty. The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0-18 years) and therefore this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous criminal convictions.
