Digital Surgery has created a digital data-driven ecosystem that uses cutting-edge technologies like AI, augmented reality and computer vision to modernise surgical training, orchestrate surgical teams in the operating room (OR) and deliver safer surgery around the world. Our Innovation team is building devices to automate surgical understanding from raw video data. In order to impact surgery in the operating room were looking for a C++ Software Engineer to push us further than ever, faster than ever, and help surgeons with their real time decision making. Youll join a fast-paced, innovative, high tech environment, where youll focus on performance, using complex computational engineering to accelerate our Intraoperative applications. Heres what youll do (not all of it, just the important stuff!): * Design, implement, and optimise video processing pipelines running on computing systems deployed in the operating room. * Leverage hardware acceleration to develop high-performance, low-latency video processing, encoding, and streaming software. * Develop inter-process data transfer and synchronisation methods to communicate image data to multiple software subsystems, including real-time artificial intelligence processes. * Optimise our video processing pipelines by leveraging cutting edge artificial intelligence optimisation tools. * Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop robust and secure-by-design software fit for a medical-grade system. * Maintain a high level of quality and reliability in submitted code, and participate in team code reviews. * Provide support to ensure that the wider Engineering resources are operating at optimal performance and reliability levels Requirements * Master's degree in computer science, engineering the sciences or similar field * Excellent C++ development skills with C++11 or higher, multi-threading, inter-process communication and performance optimisation * Excellent knowledge of software design principles and C++ design patterns * Hands-on experience design low-latency, high-performance, real-time video or image processing software * Experience developing or implementing real-time computer vision and/or artificial intelligence algorithms using hardware acceleration * Extensive experience with parallel processing and hardware acceleration * Comfortable Python development skills * Experience of commercial software development and best practice * Ability to write clear, maintainable and well-documented code * Experience using and adapting to new technologies * Self motivated whilst possessing the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team Desired Experience: * Experience with gstreamer * Experience with CUDA or OpenCL * Experience with Pytorch/TensorFlow or similar library * Experience with TensorRT * Comfortable knowledge of Linux Benefits Were in a really lucky position to operate like a small team, with all of the benefits of a big company.
