Imaging Support Worker
Overview
Job Description
The Imaging Support Workers (ISW) are essential for the effective transportation of patients from the wards to the Radiology Department, ensuring the efficient use of scanning time. Their role is extremely physical involving the use of wheelchairs, trolleys and beds. An Imaging Support Worker mixes oral contrast solutions for patients to drink prior to some examinations. You will remove cannulae after examinations, help prepare and maintain the working environment and, most importantly, help provide the much needed care and support for patients. A better experience for the patient can lead to better imaging and so the Imaging Support Workers are an essential part of the Radiology team. It is essential that you are a good communicator with experience of dealing with the public. You should be flexible, organised and able to work as part of a team. You should be energetic, keen and willing to learn. Please note: This advert is for full time vacancies, part time and bank (as and when). Please state on your application, which hours you are interested in. It's not just the area that's a great draw, as well: as a member of our team, you'll have access to one of the most generous and comprehensive pension schemes in the UK, a minimum of 27 days annual leave (on top of Bank Holidays) and an award-winning package of staff benefits (see link on the right).
