We have an exciting opportunity for an efficient and engaging Membership Assistant at our Canary Wharf Club. The ideal candidate will live and breathe by delivering a premium 5 star customer service and able to ooze passion and enthusiasm about health and fitness. As a Membership Assistant you will be responsible for managing member retention, both pro-actively and re-actively; ensuring club member retention targets and renewal targets are communicated, understood and met. This will require you to analyse a collection of rejected monthly subscriptions, monthly membership cancellations and annual renewals - both individual and corporate. Do not fear, our very capable HOD team will support you in retraining members who may have expressed an interest in cancelling their membership by discussing what our club has to offer them based on their cancellation reasons. The Membership Assistant will also need to take ownership of a high volume of queries from our members in a timely manner. With a great deal of liaising with clients and corporate accounts, we need a proficient communicator, with both strong written and verbal skills who is able to carry-out their tasks to the highest possible standard and ensure that all procedures appear seamless for the customers. The ideal candidate will also be able to manage difficult conversations and take care of any negative feedback by proactively addressing this with the customer to ensure a positive outcome is reached. This varied role will also involve administration tasks such as checking membership paperwork, processing cancellations, managing subsequent set-up failures and the allocation and reconciliation of private locker hire. As one of our busiest clubs, situated in the hustle and bustle of Canary Wharf, this role requires an individual able to work in a fast-paced environment with high levels of energy and resilience. Skills and attributes required: • Strong and influential interpersonal skills • Ability to provide exceptional service standards • Strong organisational and administrative skills • Proficient understanding of Microsoft packages (Windows, Excel, Outlook) • A confident and clear communicator • Excellent attention to detail • Well presented with good written and spoken English • Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player • Financially proficient and able to carry-out banking, set up direct debits, membership freezes etc.
