Job Description: The Senior Finance and Reporting Analyst role will sit within Sage's financial accounting and reporting function and will play a critical role in the production of high quality financial information for senior internal stakeholders and external communication for analysts and investors. The function has global responsibility for the accounting and reporting of approx. 1.9bn revenue and 0.5bn operating profit globally. Initially, the role will support and continue to have a lead responsibility in our monthly, half-yearly and annual reporting requirements - covering both internal and external reporting. In addition, the candidate will support Sage further develop a global control framework which is fit-for-purpose and consistent with our growth strategy. As a FTSE 100 organisation, the overall scope of the role is widespread and will also support other key strategic projects and initiatives which impact the financial accounting and reporting function. As an individual, you will be detail focussed, agile and a team player - working alongside a wider function of approx. 50 individuals which includes FP&A, Financial Operations, Tax and Treasury. It is critical that you are capable of analysing complex datasets and scenarios with an eye for identifying and implementing improvements to existing processes. The role will be multi-disciplined, meaning it is important you are comfortable with partnering with different functions to obtain relevant insight and analysis. Alongside this, the individual fit for this role will be someone who is keen to self-develop, continuously improve and contribute new ideas and suggestions with the support of the wider function. Reporting into the Group's Director of Financial Reporting and Control, the role provides access and exposure to the wider business, including the Senior Finance Leadership Team. #LI-MS Key Responsibilities: Key accountabilities and decision ownership: Preparation and analysis of month end reporting deliverables and delivery of management accounts and financial metrics to Sage's Executive Committee and Senior Finance Leadership Team, including reporting of such information within Board of Director briefing packs. Review of information submitted by regional finance teams to ensure compliance with accounting and reporting principles under IFRS. Partnering with FP&A to deliver high quality financial analysis and key insights through monthly meeting with regional finance directors. Using information learned above to take a lead role in the preparation of the Group's Annual Report and Accounts and other financial reporting (e.g. interim). Supporting other team members own the statutory accounts preparation process. Owning key relationships with the external audit team (Managers / Senior Managers) and building on agreed ways of working. Working with other functional stakeholders to own, build and maintain our global control framework - including supporting other finance stakeholders on achieving best in class compliance. As required, support other key strategic projects and initiatives - including control framework harmonisation, M&A / divesture deals. For some initiatives the candidate will be expected to take a lead project management type role. Recurring collaboration with the tax and treasury function to ensure the accounting, reporting and control practices are fully coordinated and understood.
