Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and motivated ophthalmic trained nurse to join our team of Senior Staff Nurse in our dedicated ophthalmic Accident and Emergency Department. There is currently an exciting opportunity for dynamic and motivated senior ophthalmic nurse to join the multidisciplinary team in our busy A&E department. The post holder will provide comprehensive, care and support for patients in our dedicated ophthalmic A&E in the City Road branch of Moorfields Eye Hospital. As a department, we are dedicated to the development of a strong nursing team ready for the future. We are fully committed to nurses' personal development and training needs. In this senior position, the challenge is to use your considerable experience and advanced ophthalmic skills in caring for patients with a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. We are looking for applicants that have a BSc in Nursing or a health related subject or equivalent experience, a recognised ophthalmic nursing qualification, a recognised clinical teaching course and have relevant ophthalmic experience at Band 5 or above. The need to be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work is essential for this post. You will also be required to act as site cover Nurse when allocated to do so. Shift work and internal rotation to night duty is part of this post. PROBATIONARY PERIOD This post will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months. During the probationary period, your suitability for continued employment will be assessed and provided a satisfactory standard is achieved and maintained, your employment will be confirmed. The probationary period may be extended Or your employment terminated either during or at the end of probation, in line with the trust Probationary Policy.
