Your new company Things are changing in Wandsworth and rapidly. We have a newly appointed Director of Children's Services and Assistant Director for Children and Families with ambitious plans to lead Wandsworth to good and outstanding. We are working with new projects and ways of working which are very exciting. This includes introducing systemic practice; being part of the innovation programme and introducing the Family Safeguarding Model; and planning to work with Coram on a New Beginnings programme for our care leavers. Your new role You will work with children and young people who reside with foster carers, kinship carers or in residential placements. In a small number of cases, children may live with their parents. Children and young people are often subject to a Care Order and the role of the Children's Social Worker is to fulfil the council's obligations as a corporate parent. The role is to work alongside other professionals, to ensure that a child or young person receives appropriate care, education and health services. What you'll need to succeed We are looking for passionate social workers, who are prepared to be accountable for achieving the best possible outcomes. You will focus on residents and service users to ensure they receive the highest standards of provision. You would have completed your ASYE and have full HCPC registration.
