Are you energized by working in the fast-moving world of the Pharma industry? If so, we are looking for a trade mark specialist to join the GSK Pharma Legal Brand Protection team. As Senior Legal Counsel, you'll be responsible for providing dedicated brand protection support to the pharmaceutical division in all GSK markets, including a number of leading global and locally focused healthcare brands. We are one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, and so this role presents a unique opportunity for an ambitious brands lawyer. You would be responsible for the strategy, clearance, registration, maintenance and enforcement of trade marks, copyright, domain names and other similar intellectual property rights relating to this business, and would have the opportunity to: * Devise and deliver trade mark strategy and support for a portfolio of brands * Protect the Pharma brands by advising on and managing dispute resolution and litigation * Advise on the IP aspects of M&A transactions both in the UK and internationally, and on various other commercial agreements * Educate the business on how to create strong, protectable brands whilst effectively managing IP risk * Manage a global network of external advisors and legal budget * Manage or supervise paralegals supporting the relevant brands and projects Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: * Qualified as a Solicitor or Barrister in the UK (with experience of working in an advisory role either in private practice or in house) * A mature knowledge of trade mark laws and the ability to apply that knowledge strategically to manage risks * Ability to work on own initiative with minimal support, multi-task and prioritise tasks to align with business objectives * Excellent interpersonal & stakeholder management skills demonstrated through interactions with clients and third parties, and confidence working in international teams and with senior stakeholders and leaders throughout the organization * Clear and concise written and oral communication skills and the ability to translate complex matters into simple terms digestible by a wide variety of audiences. * Ability to lead teams on projects and other specific matters and to mentor others in the organisation Why GSK?
