Job Description
Company:MMC Corporate Description: We are creating a center of expertise with the mandate of driving up the quality and value of software delivery and implementation across the enterprise. The COE will contain a small number of experts in Agile software engineering, test automation, technical training, development tooling and metrics management, along with development teams to support the creation of central API based services, and centralized security patching. The Development COE Lead will be responsible for building and shaping the COE, creating a team of recognized experts in their disciplines. We expect the team to drive success across our development organizations through a combination of coaching, best practice development and direct assistance. The team will additionally be responsible for the delivery of central API's and security patches, doing so in a way that embodies the best practice principles they have developed. We will count on you to: Recruit the new team, to include Agile coaches, a training lead, test engineering lead, software engineering/SDLC lead, and Devops expert. Deploy regional "Agile coaches" to help accelerate Agile adoption and kick start key projects. Establish standardized project delivery processes to include both Agile and waterfall methodologies. Develop and maintain best practice development frameworks, including modern tools with preconfigured CI/CD (continuous delivery) pipelines. Develop and maintain reference test automation frameworks. Develop and evolve supporting training and evaluation collateral. Build standard reporting and metrics frameworks to bring consistency to project reporting, empowering our business colleagues and enable the measurement of our on-going Agile journey. Maintain a list of enterprise wide preferred suppliers, both at scale and niche players, and work with procurement to manage their overall delivery quality and costs. Develop and maintain central API based services that can be used by all business units. Develop and deploy central solutions to common security vulnerabilities. What you need to have: A senior development leader that has significant experience of software delivery using Agile methodologies at scale. Must have systematically and effectively transformed development teams and lead them on the "Agile journey". A strong proponent of end-to-end development automation including integration, test and CI/CD pipelines. They must be a thought leader in the Agile space and able to command the respect of the Heads of Development across the business units. The holder of this role must be a strong leader, able to sell a vision, communicate well and motivate. They must be able to engage with senior stakeholders, understand their challenges and influence through compelling outcomes. Must haves: * Has run Agile delivery at scale for 10+ years. * A comprehensive understanding of regulated environments, systems security and privacy. * An understanding of contemporary application development stacks including MEAN, MERN, Microsoft and other emerging open source technologies. * Has direct experience with large public cloud providers such as Azure, AWS or GCP including their PaaS services. * A reputation for personal innovation and in creating environments where others can innovate. * Able to operate at scale and with senior stakeholders. * Working collaboratively with peers from all divisions across MMC, able to lead discussions, build consensus and encourage adoption. * Has a delivery focused approach. * A lifelong learner with an appetite for change.
