What you'll do In your role as Pensions Technical Specialist in Salisbury,you will work in a supportive, friendly working environment and be part of a great team. Successful candidates will have strong customer service skills and a professional, helpful approach. Key Accountabilities Working within the Pensions business area you will provide solutions to business requirements, provide technical, training and coaching support as required alongside effective management of a portfolio of complex member directed Pension Schemes/Plans. In this fast-paced environment your duties will include: * Ensure own work is processed in accordance with SLAs and internal deadlines. * Take responsibility for dealing with more complex queries and transactions for the business area as directed by Client Portfolio Team Manager * Promote the culture, conduct & behaviours required to support good customer outcomes, setting an example to the team at all times. * Proactively examine specified process areas to see how a process can be improved or new ones introduced to enhance business performance and efficiency. * Takes personal responsibility for ensuring documents and transactions are verified correctly and in accordance with the verification process to minimise risk. * Continuous review of HMRC, FCA & TPR legislative practices and changes relating to all SSAS/SIPP/FPT administration and business products, imparting information to administration teams and the business area through the appropriate channels. * Act as reference point for colleagues, providing coaching and mentoring where required in consultation with Client Portfolio Team Manager. * Awareness of and adherence to Company/Departmental and product specific procedures and policies. * Provide appropriate reports and models to inform the decision making process and analyse business data to provide input to resource or business planning. * Contribute technical expertise where required and continuously maintain and apply specialist and detailed technical expertise and the understanding of different organisational departments and functions. As well as this, you will need to have: * At least 3 years experience in a technical role with previous experience of managing a portfolio of member-directed Schemes/Plans with strong technical expertise in all areas of SSAS/SIPP/FPT. * Experience of training, coaching and mentoring colleagues. * Ability to remain calm under pressure, whilst meeting quality standards and deadlines. Able to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. * Technical expertise in all areas of SSAS/SIPP/FPT and previous experience of managing a portfolio of member-directed schemes. * Current knowledge and understanding of FCA regulations, HMRC and TPR regulations and legislative practices, demonstrating an understanding of how these impact on member-directed pension schemes. * Strong communication and listening skills with the ability to be flexible whilst maintaining a committed approach to the organisation. * Set high standards for quality and quantity and work in a systematic, methodical and orderly way. Strong numeracy and literacy skills. * Sound knowledge of all Microsoft Applications. * Minimum GCSE Maths & English grade C or equivalent.
