Job Description
Machinist Location: Birmingham, B30 About the Company: Due to continued investment and expansion we are seeking competent Skilled Manual/CNC Machinist to join our engineering and maintenance team, the role will be based in Birmingham where we are developing our new machining facility. Our client is looking for highly motivated candidates that can bring a positive impact to the development of production processes, and a proactive approach when it comes to supporting the engineering & maintenance team to ensure we meet business objectives. Machinist Responsibilities: * Machining small to medium size components * Producing small to medium size batches, one offs and special purpose work * Carry out breakdown machining repairs * Working with a variety of materials such as Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium etc. Machinist Requirements: * Experience of Manual Machining in both milling and turning * CNC Milling & Turning (programming & Setting) * Work to close tolerance * Understand and appreciate the correct selection of materials * Innovative with the ability to produce fixtures for challenging components * Must be able to work under own initiative with minimal supervision * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings * Familiarity with using standard measuring equipment and apply the necessary skills to self-inspect work * Be prepared to work overtime as required and be part of our 24/7 response team on a rota basis * Carry out all duties relevant to maintaining a clean and safe working environment * Knowledge of fitting & fabrication skills would be advantageous but not essential Machinist Benefits: * Full time, Permanent position * Excellent rates of pay * Pension * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays If you think that you are suitable for this Machinist role, please apply now!
